New logo, new site!

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted, but that’s because I was going through the growing pains of putting up a new website. As of today, it’s up!

I’ll be tweaking it as the weeks go by, but the great thing is that now I know how to do everything myself! Gotta love WordPress.

With my new site comes a new logo, drawn by the incredibly talented Carol Gillott of Paris Breakfast. I’m lucky to know her quite well—she’s my aunt—so she entertained my request of coming up with a new look for me. I’m thrilled with what she created. Carol has always had a totally unique and whimsical sensibility. She drew this parrot for me as a greeting card when I was nine years old. It hangs in my kitchen today.

Meanwhile, I’m spending my days testing recipes for the new cookbook, the first draft of which is due in a couple of months. The photo at the top of the post is of a popular Persian dessert called faloodeh, made of sorbet with frozen rice noodles. My version is made with rhubarb, thus the neon pink color. I’ll give lots more glimpses into the book in the months ahead. For now, it’s back to the kitchen.

    1. Hi Bill,

Great to hear from you! Yes, I feel lucky to have such a wonderfully talented aunt. It’s pretty great to be all grown up and collaborating together. I’ll be cooking her a thank you dinner tomorrow night. You’ll have to join some time!

  2. Hi Louisa, the new site looks great – and the logo really is wonderful! I think it reflects the spirit of your work beautifully. Out with the old, in with the new! I’m also excited to hear that you’re writing a Persian cookbook – can’t wait to see it next year and share with my friends!

    1. Hi Radina,

Great to hear from you, thanks for your kind words! Give me a buzz when you’re in NYC and I’ll have you over to Brooklyn for Persian food!
